There are many skin types and it is not always easy to determine where each of us fits in. I am going to touch on each type and hopefully this will give you insight into which category you fit.
First of all, there is Normal which is actually pretty rare. Normal skin is even tempered with seldom any breakouts. It is even in color, firmness and texture. It is still very important to keep this skin type on a regular regime of cleansing, toning and of course moisturizing.
Dry skin is often very thirsty! Many times this skin type will develop flaky patches reflecting it's need for moisture. This skin type really needs to avoid harsh, drying soaps and cleansers and a daily moisturizer is a must!
Oily skin is prone to excessive sebum (oil) produced by the sebaceous gland, which causes the skin to have a shiny, rough texture with blackheads and pores that seem enlarged. When younger, oily skin creates acne. This skin type tends to think they should not use a moisturizer when in fact, it is essential. The key is to cleanse properly and tone, creating balance in the PH of the skin. Using a light moisturizer that has healing ingredients, like refined coconut oil, that do not clog the pores, allowing the skin cells to renew and continue to shed the dead cells that clog the pores. AHA's are fantastic for this type.
Combination skin is the most common type. It is a type that is seen in all age ranges and it tends to be oily in the TZone (forehead, nose and chin) and dry on the cheeks and neck. This skin type benefits from a cleansing regime that creates balance in both areas! AHA's are great for this type as well as MSM, Niacinimide, Vitamin C and Zinc.
Mature skin is thinner, dryer and less taught in appearance. The degree of these characteristics are more enhanced due to the age and lifestyle (smoking, excessive sun exposure) This skin type really benefits from ingredients like Vitamin C, DMAE, MSM, CoQ10, Alpha lipoic acid and Zinc.
Acne Prone skin is maily caused by overactive sweat and oil glands. This type breaks out often and needs a consistent daily skincare regime. Acne prone skin benefits greatly from Lavender, Niacinimide, Tea Tree Oil, MSM,DMAE, and Zinc.
Sensitive skin is easily irritated and benefits from products that are chemical free and natural to prevent breakouts. Rose and carrot oil are healing as well as Zinc, Vitamin E and jojoba oil.
Which type do you fit? Being well aware of your skin and how it reacts is a first step to creating balance and luminosity!

Skin is our body's largest organ and it absorbs many types of toxins and chemicals. Over time compounds can accumulate within the pores and into the body resulting in disease. Whenever imbalance and toxicity occur within the body the skin begins to reveal unwanted signs. According to environmental researchers, some cosmetics and skin care products that contain certain chemicals have been linked to causing cancer, endocrine disrupters, allergies, developmental and reproductive toxicity, and cellular level changes.
I am thrilled to introduce to you a series of unique products, consisting of natural ingredients that feed the skin rather than irritate or smother. Just as the organs within our body require nourishment, our skin longs to be nourished, which encourages healing. My implicit mission is to offer pure essential steps that stimulate individual natural beauty and health.
Proper skin care, a diet free of preservatives and nutrition-less fast food and prepackaged meals are essential to beauty and health. Health and beauty are results of a lifestyle commitment to “eat to live” and not “live to eat.” We live in a society seeking comfort in foods and many other external sources. We are easily seduced by beautiful packaging that claims quick fixes to our bodies’ signals which try to speak to us.
If we look within ourselves we can be our own best doctor and nurturer. Listen to your inner voice, nurture yourself in ways that will increase your health in mind, body and spirit. Exercise to better handle everyday stress. Take excess stress out of your life. Start telling yourself you live in a happy, healthy environment until the vision becomes your reality. Surround yourself with people who are positive and who truly care about you and your wellbeing.
Do something creative or anything that makes you feel worthy and fully alive. Pay attention to your body and treat it gently, with care, using ingredients that contain the true essence of the earth. Your skin absorbs 60% of what it comes into contact with. Luckily now we live in an age where we are empowering and educating ourselves. We have the venues to speak our mind and make a difference.
You are but a piece of a very large and mysterious world. A spiritual-filled life and purpose to play your part ~ the essence of what our entire journey is about. Find your part in this very short walk of life, make a difference, take steps that begin to pave a road of remembrance. Let your road be one that curves into tomorrow and disappears into the vast and infinite sky to shine a light onto others who are beginning to take their steps for the very first time.
It is never too late to respect and love yourself and absolutely love your life. Be thankful for who you are and for your unique purpose in this lifetime. Allow your radiance to shine onto the world, spread your light and luminosity.
